CAIRO, 10 January 2019: The 26th edition of the Handball World Cup, which will be held in Germany and Denmark, starts today on January 10 and ends on January 27 with the participation of 24 teams.

Egypt participates for the 15th time in its history; it placed in Group D beside Sweden, Hungary, Qatar, Argentina and Angola.

The tournament will be held for the first time in a joint organization between two countries. It will be repeated again in 2023 between Poland and Sweden after Egypt organizes the World Cup in 2021.


Egypt Handball team is coached by the Spanish coach, David Davis, and being assisted by Hussein Zaki and Hani el-Fakharany, former Egypt’s Handball legends.

Friday, January 11 (Egypt vs Sweden) at 9:30 pm

Sunday, January 13 (Egypt x Qatar) at 4:30 pm

Monday, January 14 (Egypt vs Argentina) at 7:00 pm

Wednesday 16 January (Egypt × Hungary) at 7:00 pm

Thursday 17 January (Egypt, Angola) at 4:30 pm
