CAIRO – 12 December 2018: Liverpool's Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, was the hero on Tuesday night as he scored the goal that led his team to the UEFA Champions League second round.

“Mo's goal is a match winner. He is a world -class player and he's done it for us again," Liverpool captain, James Milner, told press after the game.

Liverpool played a "win or die" game against Napoli as they needed to achieve victory over the Italian team to stay at the competition and Salah’s goal led them to a 1-0 victory at Anfield.

Milner added “It was always going to be a tough game; they're a good team. I thought it was a really good performance; we knew we had to defend well and we defended really well from front to back.”

Liverpool hopes to keep their fine form when they travel to face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at the North West Derby at the Premier League.

Liverpool is leading the league's table, one point ahead of the defending champions, Manchester City.
