CAIRO - 9 December 2018: The third African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations kicked off on Saturday, Dec.8 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

Egypt hosts the championship at a stadium designed especially for this tournament from Saturday, December 8 toFriday, December 14.

Eight countries are participatingin this edition; Côte d’ivoire, Morocco, Senegal, Nigeria, Libya, Madagascar, Tanzania andthe host, Egypt.

The title winners and the runners-up qualify to the World Cup which has never witnessed the participation of Egypt.

Egypt isin Group A with Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire and Madagascar, while Nigeria, Senegal, Libya and Tanzania are in the second group.

Egypt hosts the tournament for the first time as the last time was organized by Nigeria in 2016.
Paraguay hosts the 2019 World Cup with 16 teams participating in the tournament including two African teams.
