CAIRO –9 July 2018: West Ham United announced on Monday that they have reached an agreement with Jack Wilshere to join the club from Arsenal on a free transfer.

The player put an end to his career at the club of his life, Arsenal, after 17 years at the Gunners.

“It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing." Wilshere said after signing his contract.

Wilshere, who joined Arsenal, when he was nine, was a diehard fan for West Ham.

“People will have seen the picture of me in a West Ham shirt and I've got good memories of my childhood supporting West Ham, watching them at Upton Park.” Wilshere said.

Asked about reasons behind choosing West Ham to be his destination, he said “I think it was a number of things that helped me make up my mind, the manager being one and the way he wants to play and where he sees me playing,"

Wilshere, who represented England at 34 games, signed a three year deal with the Hammers.

Wilshere added “I want to be playing here in front of the Hammers, and the bond I've had with the Club over my childhood will make it even more special."
