CAIRO – 12 June 2018: Former Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario believes it is time for his national team to clinch the World Cup title again after a 16-year absence. Brazilians are hoping to add the sixth World Cup star on their badge.

“It is time for us in Brazil to win a World Cup again,” Ronaldo told press in Moscow.

The former striker lead Brazil to achieve its last World Cup title in 2002 after defeating Germany 2-0 in the final game, with Ronaldo scoring both goals.

On the other hand, Ronaldo believes there are other favorite teams to win the title, saying “I think the other favorites will be Germany, who are always strong, and Spain. Argentina and France can also cause problems."

Ronaldo helped his team win two out of Brazil’s five World Cup titles; he did not play a single game in the 1994 tournament that Brazil won in USA.

The Brazilian player scored 15 goals in World Cup tournaments; only Germany’s Miroslav Klose scored more goals in the history of the tournament: 16 goals.

Brazil plays in Group E alongside Costa Rica, Serbia and Switzerland in the 2018 World Cup.
