CAIRO – 5 June 2018: Liverpool's Croatian defender, Dejan Lovren, believes that his Egyptian teammate, Mohamed Salah, will be ready for the World Cup in Russia.

“I’m positive, I have some news but I will keep it to myself. Hopefully he can be fit for the World Cup because I know it means a lot to him to play for his national team,” Lovren told press on Tuesday.

Salah suffered a shoulder injury during the Champions League Final against Real Madrid after a tangle with Sergio Ramos. He left the game after 30 minutes and watched Liverpool's 3 -1 loss from the dressing room.

Lovren commented on Salah’s injury at the Champions League Final, saying “Of course it was disappointing for him that he couldn’t finish the game in Kiev, but he’s positive and hopefully he can move on and play for the national team.”

Salah has had a great relationship with the Croatian defender since he joined Liverpool last summer from AS Roma.

Egypt national team manager, Hector Cuper, named Mohamed Salah at Egypt’s final squad for the World Cup.

Scoring five out of Egypt’s seven goals at the qualifiers, Salah played a great role in Egypt's campaign to reach the World Cup and to end 28 years of absence as Egypt last participated in the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
