CAIRO – 9 May 2018: Al-Ain lost 4-2 to Qatar’s Al-Duhail at AFC Champions League round of 16 first leg at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain.
Al-Duhail striker, Youssef el-Arabi, surprised the hosts when he opened the score for his team after 13 minutes.
Tae-hee Nam doubled the score for the Qatari side minutes before the half time when he dribbled Al-Ain defense, went one on one with the goalkeeper and put the ball in the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
Ismail Mohamed scored Al-Duhail’s third goal two minutes after the second half start when he chipped the ball over Al-Ain goalkeeper.
Al Moaaz Ali continued Al-Duhail’s party scoring the fourth goal and set his team's foot at the quarter finals.
Ahmed Khalil scored Al-Ain's first goal in the game by a stunning header.
Ibrahim Diaky scored Al-Ain’s second goal at the game and got the fans’ hopes high for a comeback at the second leg.
Al-Ain's Egyptian winger, Hussein el Shahat, will return to his team at the second leg after missing the first leg for suspension.
Al-Ain will have a difficult mission to reach the quarter finals when they travel to face the Qatari team at the second leg on May 15.
