Salah wins Champions League’s goal of the week award

CAIRO – 16 April 2018: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, added another award to his collection as his goal against Man City at the UEFA Champions League quarter finals second leg was chosen to be the goal of the week.



Salah, 25, led his team to Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2008 after defeating Premier League champions, Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate.

Salah’s goal equalized the score for his team after 10 minutes from the second half after a 1-0 loss at the first half. Roberto Firmino added the second goal that granted his team a victory and secured a spot for Liverpool at the semi-finals for the first time since 2008.



Salah, 25, won 39 percent of the fan votes while Cristiano Ronaldo’s overhead kick against Juventues came second with 30 percent of the votes.



The Egyptian winger had an amazing season with his club. He leads the race to win the Premier League top goal scorer award as he scored 30 goals this season and he is five goals ahead of his successor, Harry Kane.

The 25-year-old is also shortlisted at the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award and he is expected to be one of the nominees for Ballon d’ Or award.
