CAIRO – 16 April 2018: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, will face his former club, AS Roma, at the UEFA Champions League semi-finals; Roma President, Jim Pallotta, hopes for a warm welcome from the fans to the player.

“I hope the fans appreciate the years Salah spent here, and what he has been doing this year; he deserves a warm welcome back in Roma,” Pallotta told Roma Official website on Monday.

Salah, 25, wore Roma’s Jersey for two years before his decision to leave the club and join Liverpool. Salah had amazing two seasons with Roma as he scored 32 goals and was named the best player in the team in both seasons.



Pallotta praised the Egyptian player, saying “We have a couple of years of at least seeing him even though he has played on this higher and higher level. He is a great player; we would have loved to keep him.”

Salah had an amazing season with Liverpool, scoring 40 goals, including 30 goals at the Premier League. He leads the race to win the Premier League top goal scorer award as he scored 30 goals this season and he is five goals ahead of his successor, Harry Kane.

The 25-year-old is also shortlisted at the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award and he is expected to be one of the nominees for Ballon d’ Or award.
