CAIRO – 16 April 2018: Arab Contractors’ coach, Mohamed Ouda, believes that the departure of former Contractors’ players and current Premier League stars, Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny, caused crises in the Contractors’ youth sector.
Salah and Elneny were key players in Contractors’ team in 2012 before leaving to Switzerland; Salah moved to Europe in late 2012 then Elneny in 2013 to the same Swiss club, FC Basel.
Salah moved from Basel to Chelsea in 2013, Fiorentina in 2014, Roma in 2015 then he settled at Anfield stadium with Liverpool where he is considered one the best players in the world right now. Elneny moved to Arsenal directly from Basel where he shined with the Gunners.
“Salah and Elneny are big stars in Europe, but they caused a lot of problems for us in the youth sector,” Ouda said to Al-Hadaf radio program.
“All the young players want to repeat their experience in Europe and I think this is the main problem in Canaria’s crisis,” Ouda added.
Canaria is a winger in the Arab Contractors’ squad; he is considered one of the most promising talents in Ouda’s team. He refused to renew his contract because he didn’t feel he was playing enough.
“I gave him a chance in Petrojet’s game and he showed a very good performance. When we offered him a new contract he refused to sign; we punished him,” Ouda concluded.
Ouda resigned from the Arab Contractors’ managerial position after being eliminated from the Egypt Cup in the quarter-final against Ismaily but his resignation wasn’t accepted.
