CAIRO – 7 April 2018: The Al-Ahly women's volleyball team has completed their season’s success, as they were crowned with the Egyptian Cup after a 3-0 victory over Sporting.

Al-Ahly’s women dominated the game and thrashed Alexandria’s side 25-17, 25-14, and 25-9.

Al-Ahly coach Hamdy el-Safy depended on his players Aya el-Shamy, Farida Askalany, Nahla Sameh (captain), Mariam Metwally and Ukrainian player Ekaterina Silchenkova.



The Reds qualified for the final game after beating Al-Shams 3-0 in the semi-final, while Sporting defeated Zamalek SC 3-2.

Al-Ahly achieved their fourth title this season after grabbing the Arabian Championship on December 2017 before being crowned as African Champions for the ninth time when they thrashed Tunisian team CF Carthage 25-9, 29-27 and 25-8.

They won the Egyptian League weeks later to secure their third title this season before achieving the Egyptian Cup.

Al-Ahly added the 92nd title to their record throughout the club's history.
