CAIRO – 2 April 2018: Antoine Griezmann, Atlético de Madrid's French striker, rejected on Sunday an offer from Manchester United as he feels committed to Barcelona, according to British newspaper “The Sun”.

Antoine Griezmann, according to the same news, would have already committed to Barcelona, which will pay the release clause of €100 million this summer.

Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s coach, reportedly had Antoine Griezmann on his transfer list, but Manchester United had to give up their efforts when they saw that Atlético Madrid’s striker held a future position in Barcelona.

“I want to travel to Russia without this concern; it is not about knowing where I'll play, but about having the peace of mind if I'm still in one place or another,” Griezmann told “L’Equipe”.

Mourinho trusted Griezmann to pair up with Paul Pogba at Manchester United. This couple of French players could go very well to Manchester United.

However, Mourinho and Manchester United will allegedly seek an alternative to Griezmann, since the French striker will move to Barcelona.

Griezmann is currently focusing on Atlético Madrid and the remaining games to end the season.

The player joined Atletico Madrid in 2014 from his childhood club, Real Sociedad. He has, since then, established himself as a key player at the club, leading them to the 2016 Champions League final when they lost to Real Madrid on penalties.

Griezmann revealed that he prefers to achieve a title for his team to winning an individual award.

“I am part of a group, and I prefer to win a collective title than an individual one. I want to win a World Cup or the Champions League, and then the Ballon d'Or will come, if it has to come,” he said.

The World Cup draw put France in Group C alongside Denmark, Peru and Australia.
