CAIRO – 10 March 2018: The Egyptian national team decided to stick by the date of its friendly match against Colombia scheduled for June 1, and refused the Colombian request to postpone the game to June 3.

The national team’s decision came to prevent any interruption that could happen regarding the team’s final training camp before the World Cup, as the team will travel to Brussels directly after the Colombia game to face the Belgian team in a friendly match on June 6.

The Pharaohs are now preparing for two friendly matches held in Switzerland, against Portugal and Greece, on March 23 and 27, respectively, ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Ehab Lehita, director of the Egyptian national team, revealed earlier that June 10 will be the date that the Egyptian national team will fly to Russia to participate in the most important tournament in the world – the World Cup. Egypt will start its journey in the World Cup facing Uruguay on June 15, followed by Russia on June 19 and finally Saudi Arabia on June 25.
