CAIRO – 10 February 2018: Spain will face Portugal on Saturday at the 2018 UEFA Futsal EURO Final at Arena Stožice, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The final will be a repeat of the 2010 final, where Spain defeated Portugal 4-2 to win the title.

Spain qualified to the final after beating Kazakhstan 3-1 on penalties in the semi-final. The regular time and extra time ended with a 5-5 draw.

On the other hand, Portugal defeated Russia 3-2 to reach their second final in the history of the competition.

Spain are the most successful nation in the history of the competition; this year they have reached the final for the 9th time. They won seven titles and lost only one final in 1999 to Russia.

Portugal hopes to be the fourth European nation to win the title after Spain who won seven titles, Italy who won two titles and Russia who achieved one title.

Portugal depend on their winger, Ricardo Filipe, known as Ricardinho, who has scored six goals in the competition so far and is the tournament’s top goal scorer.

Slovenia is hosting the competition, which runs from January 30 to February 10.
