CAIRO – 18 January 2018: Football fans have their different opinions about footballers these days. Social network platforms have encouraged the fans to voice their points of view on players.

At the end, the fans agreed on their favorite player of each team, even if this particular footballer plays for a rival team.

Football addicts appreciate every player who shows any kind of respect, not only for his team and his fans, but also for the rivals’ fans. The player’s non-related football activities are also influencing the fans’ opinion.

Here is a list of five footballers in the recent five years that most of the fans support:

One of the greatest footballers in the last recent ten years has started his career with Atletico Madrid and showed his ability to score amazing goals. He later joined the Premier League in the ranks of Liverpool where he made his name widely known all over the world. He then moved to Chelsea, AC Milan and finally returned back to Atletico Madrid to end his career in his home country.

Bayern Munich’s former captain was one of the footballers who won the respect of football fans. Whoever has doubts that Philipp Lahm is the top German footballer, he may just recognize the achievements of this player, who featured with his country in 113 international appearances.

He was the captain of Germany in the 2014 World Cup and played three Champions League finals and won the title in 2013. He also won the Bundesliga eight times; a record also held by Oliver Kahn, Schweinsteiger and Mehmet Scholl.

He also won the German Cup seven times and won the double (league and cup) five times.

It is widely known that defenders are the players who receive the yellow and red cards the most but Lahm was one of the few players who has not been sent off in 331 league games.

• Francesco Totti

He left his marks with AS Roma, which is impossible to be erased from the history of the club.

Totti is the top club's historic scorer in various tournaments (307 goals, 250 of them in the Italian league).

His last season with Roma was his 25th season, equalizing the record of AC Milan’s legend Paolo Maldini, as the most active player in the Italian football seasons in Serie A.
