2017 UEFA Team of the Year revealed

CAIRO – 11 January 2018: The Union of European Football Associations “UEFA” announced its 2017 Team of the Year on Thursday. UEFA picked its all-star team after 8.8 million votes.

UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid, have five players in the team: Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo Vieira, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

The players led their team to a historic season winning five titles in one year for the first time in the club’s history. They won the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish League, the European Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The team also included three players from the Juventus team who lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

The players are: Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini and Daniel Alves who left the club last summer
to join Paris Saint Germain.

The other three players in the team are: Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Paris Saint Germain stars; Neymar Jr Da Silva and Kylian Mbappe as well as Tottenham’s Harry Kane were not picked for the team.
