CAIRO – 3 January 2018: Manchester United suffered a disappointing start this season and it is clear that the team needs new players to improve their performance.

One of the names that sound perfect for the Reds is Napoli’s defender, Faouzi Ghoulam. The 23-year-old left-back is one of the best in his position and United would pay Napoli his release clause, which is €60 million, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

The one who would be replaced by Ghoulam is Luke Shaw, the current United left-back, who started on Monday against Everton. Shaw failed to prove that he deserves a position in Mourinho’s line-up.

Another left-back who is of interest to Mourinho and is likely to be signed in this transfer market is Benfica’s left-back, Grimaldo. He originally came from FC Barcelona’s youth team and is now ready to move from Benefica to United.

The signing would be worth around €30 million and is a step forward for Grimaldo.
With the possible arrival of Ghoulam, Mourinho supports a defense that has been under much pressure in the Premier League.

Ghoulam suffered a knee injury in the game against Manchester City in the Champions League in November, and he will be out for another 3 months.
