Arsenal interested in signing young Barcelona star Arnaiz

CAIRO – 21 December 2017: Arsenal plans to strengthen their squad during the upcoming winter transfer market, as the Gunners club wants to sign young Barcelona star Jose Arnaiz.

According to the newspaper Marca, Arsenal has been watching Jose Arnaiz since the beginning of the season, as French coach Arsene Wenger admires the potential and flexibility of the player.

According to the same source, Arsenal is considering the possibility of activating the penalty clause (amounting up to €20 million/$23.7 million) in Jose Arnaiz's contract with Barcelona due to the departure of Alexis Sanchez.

Jose Arnaiz, 22, and Barcelona have a contract that runs until the summer of 2021. He moved to the Catalan club last summer from Valladolid for €3.4 million.
