CAIRO – 12 December 2017: The Portuguese Football Federation agreed to set a friendly match against the Egyptian national team next March. The match will take place during the training camp in March which will prepare the Pharaohs for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Egyptian Football Association received a formal fax from the Portuguese Football Federation to approve the game which will be held in Lugano, Switzerland on March 24.

Egypt was placed in group A with Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. The EFA began to arrange friendly matches to prepare the Pharaohs for the 2018 World Cup.

Egypt faced Portugal two times before. Portugal defeated Egypt 4-0 on December 24, 1955 and 2-0 on August 17, 2005. Both games were international friendlies.
