CAIRO – 8 December 2017: Spanish newspapers reported that the transfer of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool to Barcelona is almost complete.

The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that the agreement has been completed between Barcelona and Philippe Coutinho since last summer and there is respect from the player and his agent.

The newspaper’s headline stated “Coutinho to Barcelona ... now or never.”

The newspaper said that Barcelona hopes to reduce the price set by Liverpool of €145 million, including add-ons and variables.

Barcelona was aiming to sign Coutinho during the previous summer transfer window to make up for their failure to get Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain who also lured Neymar away from the Catalonian club with a fee of €222 million.

The last offer made was €80 million with a possible additional €30 million in variables depending on the performance of the player and his titles.
