CAIRO – 1 December: Confederation of African Football announced on Friday that it would grant $500,000 for the five participating teams from the continent in the 2018 World Cup.

CAF had discussed the idea in the executive meeting on November 16 in Rabat.

CAF will also provide Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal and Nigeria, a 'Fieldwiz ' which is the technological tool used to analyze the performance of football teams as well as for physical measurements.

Five teams awaited the draw for the group stage of the World Cup. Egypt’s national team manager, Hector Cuper, will represent Egypt at the 2018 World Cup draw alongside 10 Egyptian sports figures. The draw will be held on Friday at 5:00 p.m. (Cairo Time) at State Kremlin Palace, Moscow.

Egypt returned to participate in the tournament after 28 years of absence as they last played in the World Cup in 1990 in Italy.
