CAIRO – 27 November 2017: The opening ceremony of the Wakeboarding European and African Championships was held Sunday’s evening at El Gouna Cable Park Sliders, under the auspices of the Egyptian Sailing and Water-Ski Federation. With the participation of about 200 players from 19 different countries, who will compete in all age groups in different categories including Egypt, Spain, Russia, France, South Africa, Denmark, Slovenia and others.

It was attended by Amr Abo El Seoud, vice president of the Egyptian Sailing and Water-Ski Federation, Karim Soliman member of the International Federation, General Manager of El Gouna resort Mahmoud El Baroudi, Vice President of the International Federation of the sport Varna Laca and a number of officials of Orascom Development Company.

The ceremony started with a minute of mourning for the victims of Al-Rawda mosque incident in Arish, followed by a speech by Mahmoud Al-Baroudi, who said during his speech that the establishment of the championship and its continuation is a clear message to the world, adding that Egypt will not be stopped by the terrorists. Stressing that Egypt is completely safe and those incidents occur in all countries of the world and not only Egypt.

The Wakeboarding European and African Championships will be held from 26 November to 2 December.
