CAIRO – 30 October 2017: Real Madrid faces Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley Stadium in London at the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. The game is of great importance for Madrid’s winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 32, couldn’t reach his full potential in the last stages of the former season when he led Real Madrid to win the Champions League and the Spanish League titles.

Ronaldo’s run in this season with Real Madrid is not as good as the fans expected. The player watched Madrid’s victory over Manchester United at the UEFA Super Cup from the bench.

Ronaldo played the second half at the Spanish Super Cup’s first leg, away against Barcelona. He scored Madrid’s second goal in the game, but his offensive objection towards the referee made the Spanish Federation punish him for five games.

Ronaldo missed the Spanish Super Cup’s second leg and the first four games in the Spanish League.

The player had lost form. After his return, he only scored a goal in the league. Ronaldo’s form affected Real Madrid run in the competition as the team placed third with 20 points, 8 points behind the leaders, Barcelona.

Ronaldo hopes to regain his performance at his beloved competition, the UEFA Champions League, in the country in which he started his career as a football star with Manchester United.
