CAIRO – 20 October 2017: Mohamed Salah, Liverpool`s midfielder, was voted as the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week for his performance in the great 7-0 victory over Maribor.

Salah managed to score two goals and provided an assist to Roberto Firmino, Liverpool`s attacker. The Egyptian international was the highest-voted player in a poll on the European Football Association's (UEFA) official website among eight players as the best of the Champions League’s third round, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Salah topped the list with many elite players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Eden Hazard, but he was competing with the Turkish player from Besiktas, Cenk Tosun. Salah collected 51 percent of UEFA’s public votes, while Tosun got 33 percent of the votes.

It’s the second time in this campaign the Egypt forward has claimed the prize, having also done so for his performance in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Matchday one.
