CAIRO – 19 October 2017: Egypt’s national team manager, Hector Cuper decided to start the game against Ghana at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with substitute players.

Egypt guaranteed their participation in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as the team tops the group with 12 points; four points ahead of the second-placed Uganda.

The Egyptian national team hopes to beat Ghana on their land to avenge the 6 -1 loss to Ghana in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers; a game many current national team players participated in.

Cuper will grant many players, who were not featured enough during the national team’s qualifiers, the opportunity to show their talents. These players include Saad Samir, Karim Hafez, Ahmed al-Shenawy, Ahmed al-Mohamady, Sam Morsy and Ali Gabr.

Egypt’s camp for the Ghana game will start on October 6. The national team will also play a friendly game against the United Arab Emirates on October 9, before travelling to Ghana to play their team on October 12.
