CAIRO – 19 October 2017: Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi spoke about his manager, Pep Guardiola, and the way he follows as a manager.

“Pep is on top of everything; not only talking to us about football, but making sure we are ok with our family and things like that," Otamendi told Fox Sports on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola started managing Manchester City in 2016 and he failed to achieve any title in his first year, but the second year seems to be promising, as the club tops the Premier League and their group in the Champions League.

Otamendi, 29 years old, added, “Pep is demanding about food and also that we study English, as every meeting is in that language. In December, I even have an exam.”

Otamendi revealed the impact of Guardiola’s ways on the team, saying, “Pep has everything in hand so that when the game comes around, everything flows well. It's all designed for the team to function perfectly. Nothing is left to chance."

Otamendi joined Manchester City in 2015 from Valencia, and since then he booked a regular place on the club’s defense.
