CAIRO – 14 October 2017: Barcelona travels to the Spanish capital Madrid to face off against Atletico Madrid on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. Cairo time. Barcelona will be playing at Atletico Madrid’s new stadium Wanda Metropolitano for the first time.

Barcelona enters the game with high spirits as the team has yet to lose against Atletico Madrid’s manager Diego Simeone in their last 11 La Liga encounters. Barcelona won eight games and three games ended with a draw.

Barcelona hopes to be the first Spanish team to defeat Atletico in their new stadium as Atletico won their first two games at Wanda Metropolitano against Malaga and Sevilla but they lost 2-1 to Chelsea at UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona was the first Spanish team to defeat Atletico Madrid at their former stadium, Vicente Calderon. Barcelona won 1-0 in 1966.

Barcelona’s manager Ernesto Valverde depends on his biggest star Lionel Messi to break Atletico defense while Simeone hopes that Antoine Griezmann could give him the first victory over Barcelona in the league.
