CAIRO - 9 Oct 2017 : Former Chelsea player Didier Drogba congratulated Mohamed Salah after he scored two goals qualifying Egypt to the 2018 World Cup in Russia after beating Congo 2-1.

Drogba posted on his Twitter account a link of Mohamed Salah’s second goal, saying “Proud of my brother @22mosalah, u became a real leader of a Nation reminds me of Côte d’Ivoire in 2006.”

Mohamed Salah played alongside Drogba in Chelsea in 2015 under Jose Mourinho’s command, and they’ve had a great relationship since.

In 2006, Ivory Coast legend Drogbba led his country to the World Cup in Germany for the first time in their history. Drogba was the Ivory Coast’s best player in the qualifiers and his 11 goals played a great role in his team’s performance.

Salah scored five of Egypt’s seven goals in five qualifier games to secure Egyptian participation in the World Cup.
