CAIRO – 8 October 2017: Millions of Egyptians are celebrating after the national team qualified for the World Cup after beating Congo 2-1. Mohamed Salah scored the two Egyptian goals.

The Egyptians are adoring Egyptian football, and have finally tasted the joy of participating in the greatest football competition in the history the World Cup. Egypt has only qualified for World Cup two times. The last time was 27 years ago in 1990 World Cup.

Millions are now celebrating in the streets of Egypt holding the national flag after referee Bakary Gassama blew the final whistle of the game. The whistle announced Egypt as the winner of the game. The game secured the team with the 12th point allowing them to qualify directly to the World Cup without waiting for the final round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.

Not only are the celebrations taking place in Egyptian territories, the celebrations were held in several countries around the world, like France and Saudi Arabia with the participation of the Saudis. They wanted to share the in the happiness with the Egyptians also. The Saudi Arabian national team has already qualified for the World Cup earlier from the Asian qualifiers.
