CAIRO – 8 October 2017: Egyptian fans are waiting for the moment of victory Sunday at 8 p.m., where the Egyptian national team will face Uganda at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, for the fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Egypt has not qualified to the World Cup since 1990, and the formation of the Egyptian team this time includes a group of old players. Some of the other players are now coaches, working in media, or away from the field.

Some of the players on the pitch Sunday were so young in 1990 that they wouldn’t have been allowed to play. Some were not old enough to be able to stand.

Essam Elhadary was born in 1973 and was 17 years old in 1990.

Ahmed Hegazi was born in 1992, two years after the 1990 World Cup.

Ramy Rabia was born also born 3 years after the 1990 World Cup.

Ahmed Fathi was born in 1984 so he was 6 years old.

Mohamed Abdel Shafy was 5 years old.

Mohamed El Nenny was born in 2 years after the World Cup.

Tarek Hamed was 2 years old.

Saleh Gomaa was 3 years later.

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet was born in 4 years after the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah was born 2 years after.

Ahmed Hassan Koka was born 3 years after, as well.

It is worth noting that the youngest player in the Egyptian team is Ramadan Sobhi, who was born in 1997, and if we qualify he will be one of the youngest players in the World Cup.
