CAIRO –5 October 2017: Argentina is set to meet Peru on Thursday, October 5, at 1:30 a.m. (Cairo time) in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers at La Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentina is faces the risk of not qualifying to the World Cup as it competes with six different teams to book the ticket to Russia. Argentina comes in the fifth place with 24 points, and two matches remaining.

Jorge Sampaoli, Argentine's coach, said on Wednesday that Juventus' striker Paulo Dybala clashes on the pitch with Lionel Messi, and admitted that the future favors the young striker.
Sampaoli eliminated doubts generated by Paulo Dybala when he stated recently that he found it difficult to play alongside Messi.

"We did not think it was a very strong statement, we have a well-worked bet we know that in the future he can give a lot to the team," he said.

"Today we train in the morning with a group and in the afternoon with another, they all have the same possibilities and we have not yet defined the team, it is important that they are the best for Argentina to go to the World Cup," he said when asked about the starting eleven.

He defined Lionel Messi as "vital in the definition against the arch rival," and his teammate in Barcelona captain, Javier Mascherano, as "a banner in the selection."

He confirmed that Italian striker Mauro Icardi, and Boca Juniors' midfielder Fernando Gago are suffering muscle pains.
