CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Chelsea turned Atletico Madrid`s dream to win at their first European game in their new stadium, Wanda Metropolitano into a nightmare as they got a late 2-1 victory.

Atletico Madrid took the lead after the 40th minute from the beginning when Antoine Griezmann scored through a penalty after a mistake from Chelsea defender, David Luiz.

Chelsea waited till the second half to respond when Alvaro Morata scored the equalizer for Chelsea by a header after a great cross from Chelsea winger, Eden Hazard at the 60th minute.

The game was going to end with a 1-1 draw but Chelsea refused to return to London with only one point. Striker, Michy Batshuayi took advantage of the cross from his teammate, Marcos Alonso to score the winning goal for Chelsea only seconds away from the final whistle.

This defeat left the host, Atletico Madrid, in an uncomfortable position in the group as they came third with only one point, Chelsea with six points on top of the group, and Roma with points points placed second.
