CAIRO - 27 September 2017: Egypt’s national volleyball team manager, Marcos Miranda, announced Egypt’s squad who will fly to Portugal on Thursday in preparation for the Men's African Volleyball Championship in Egypt.


Miranda’s chosen squad consists of Hossam Youssef, Ahmed Saber Fatouta, Ahmed Salah El Din, Ahmed El Qotob, Abdel Halim Fahim, Mohamed Adel, Mamdouh Abdel Moneim, Abdel Rahman Soudi, Ahmed Said, Mostafa Mohamed Ibrahim, Marwan Atef, Ahmed Hamada, Ahmed Galal, Ahmed Diaa, Ahmed Abdel-Al and Mohamed Reda.


Egypt is hosting the 2017 Men's African Volleyball Championship from October 22 to 29 for the eighth time in the history.


The top three teams will represent Africa at 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship which will be hosted by Italy and Bulgaria from September 10 to 30.


Egypt hosted the last edition of the tournament in 2015. The Egyptian team won the gold medal after beating Tunisia 3-0 in the final.
