CAIRO – 30 August 2017: Uli Hoeness, Bayern Munich’s president, expressed on August 30 his opinion regarding the prices of the players in the current transfer window.
Speaking to German website Bild, Hoeness slammed the current prices of the players adding that there needs to be an end to such prices.
Hoeness said, “In my opinion there is no player in the world worth 100 million euros,” citing from Daily Mail.
Hoeness added, “I do not want to buy a player for 100 million euros even if I had the money. That would be too much of a waste of money. We have reached a point where we have to be damned careful. Because there is a point where maybe the fan has had enough,” reporting from the Daily Mail.
Hoeness concluded, “In all honesty, it is time to go back to proportionality. For a long time there was fear of agents, of players etc. Now we have to say 'enough is enough,” according to the Daily Mail.
It is worth mentioning that the Brazilian winger Neymar became the most expensive player in the world in this transfer window after joining Paris Saint-Germain with record fee of 222 million euros. While, the 21 year old Ousmane Dembele became the second most expensive player in football’s history during this summer transfer window after joining FC Barcelona with a 105 million euros fee.
