CAIRO –18 August 2017: Bayern Munich will face Bayer Leverkusen at the opening of the Bundesliga on Friday at Allianz Arena, Munich at 8:30 p.m. local Cairo time.

The 55th edition of the German premier league Bundesliga is about to begin on Friday as the German champion and the holder of the most number of titles, with 27 titles, Bayern Munich faces Bayer Leverkusen, whereby Leverkusen ended last season in 12th place.

Bayern Munich finished the Bundesliga in first place with 82 points, 15 points away from RB Leipzig, which was propelled from the lower division last season to achieve a historic result and occupying the second place of the league with 67 points.

The opening ceremony of Bundesliga will not be as grand as it usually is, their website reported. They will only introduce all the participating teams and two players of each team; one team legend and one youth player.
