CAIRO – 9 August 2017: Zamalek's board of directors, decided on 9 August to not give all players their salaries, after losing in semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup.

Zamalek SC, led by the coach Tarek Yahia, lost 2-0 to Al Masry in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup on Tuesday.

According to Yallakora, Zamalek’s president Mortada Mansour, has also decided to impose financial penalties and fines on players due to their bad performance. This season Zamalek SC did not win any trophy. The team did not achieve the Egyptian league, Egypt Cup, and was knocked out of the CAF Champions League.

Egypt Today understands that Zamalek’s board of directors might release release 4 players including Mahmoud Shikabala, Mohamed Ibrahim, Basem Morsy and Ibrahim Salah with the start of Zamalek’s new season.

It is worth mentioning that Zamalek’s president Mortada Mansour criticized a lot of Zamalek’s players following Zamalek’s recent defeat against Al Masry SC in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup.
