CAIRO – 6 August 2017: Egyptian national team track and field competitor Hamada Mohamed got injured on August 5 ahead of his 800-meter race in the World Championships in Athletics being held in London from August 4-13.

Hamada Mohamed got injured during his warm up for the race. Then, the medical staff ran onto the track in order to take care of him. They decided to place him on a wheelchair and escort him out of the running area.

Mostafa Amr Mohamed and Hamada Mohamed are Egypt’s two racers on the track and field team who are participating in this year’s championships.

It is worth mentioning that the World Championships in Athletics is being held at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. It is considered one of the world’s biggest sporting events, with the participation of legendary racers, such as Usain Bolt and Mo Farah.
