CAIRO – 4 August 2017 – Bayern Munich will face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the German Super Cup match at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park stadium.
The German Super Cup match is always held between the winner of the German Premier League Bundesliga and the German Cup winner. Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga for the 2016/2017 season for the 27th time, while Borussia Dortmund qualified to the German Super Cup after winning the German Cup in the last season, the fourth time it has won.
The two teams had faced each other on 108 occasions in all competitions. Bayern won in 50 matches, Dortmund won in 29 matches and 29 games ended in a draw. Each team will enter the game wanting to achieve the superiority in the number of German Super Cup titles, as each team has five titles.
