CAIRO – 30 July 2017: The Egyptian Basketball Juniors team came in the last place on July 30 in the Basketball Youth Tournament that was held in Italy.

The basketball team received another loss from South Korea on July 30 with a score of 74/57 in their last match in the tournament causing them to come in the last place.

The Egyptians, led by Coach Haitham Eid, had lost in the first round against Russia 114-63, later won the second round against Puerto Rico 69-52, the first victory for the Egyptian women's team in the history of participating in the World Championships.

They then lost to Spain 88-71 in the last round of the first stage, before the team faced a loss to China with a score of 85-43 in the round of 16 before losing another time to Mexico with a score of 70/66 in the deciding positions from 9-16.

The team includes 12 players:

Miral Ashraf, Rana Alaa, Toqa Gamal, Asrar Majid, Mariam Hossam, Hana Yasser, Radwa Salem, Rana Abdel Zaher, Ranem al-Barqi, Nadine Rehan, Nesma Abdel Rahman and Gannah Mostafa.
