CAIRO – 30 July 2017: Parma Calcio 1913 FC appointed their veteran striker Hernan Crespo as their new vice president of the Italian club on July 28.

Following a meeting with Parma’s board, Crespo and Italian lawyer Giacomo Malmesi were appointed as the club’s new vice presidents.

The legendary striker posted on his Twitter account following his appointment saying, "Thanks to Parma's shareholders for the appointment. With passion, love and humility we will continue to write history together. One more time."

The Argentinean saw a prosperous career playing for some of Europe’s top teams, including Parma, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Chelsea.

Parma will play in the Seria B next season after gaining their promotion from Seria C last season.

The Italian giants were considered one of the great clubs in Europe in the 1990s. However, due to bankruptcy Parma had to start all over again in the fourth division after releasing many players.
