CAIRO – 27 July 2017: The Egyptian Women’s U-19 basketball national team lost to China on July 26 in the round of 16 in the U-19 Basketball World Cup held in Italy from July 22 to 30.

China managed to beat the Egyptian team with a score of 85 to 43. With this result, Egypt is to meet Mexico on Friday in the deciding match for the positions 9 -16.

The national team led by the coach Haitham Eid had lost in the first round from the Russian national team 114-63, and then our team managed to achieve their first victory against Puerto Rico with 69-52, then lost to Spain 88-71.

The squad list of the women’s U-19 national team includes 12 players: Miral Ashraf, Rana Alaa, Toqa Gamal, Asrar Maged, Mariam Hossam, Hana Yasser, Radwa Salem, Rana Abdel Zaher, Nadine Rehan, Nesma Abdel Rahman, Ganna Mostafa.

The Italian women’s U-19 basketball World Cup contains 16 teams; the African continent participates with two teams which are Egypt and Mali, the world cup teams are:

Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mali, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, South Korea, and the United States.
