CAIRO – 26 July 2017: Ahmed Hossam known as Mido played in high levels in Europe since he was young and he was a teammate to great players during his football journey like Didier Drogba in Marseille and Francesco Totti in AS Roma.

Mido’s journey had a lot to tell, great goals, big matches and for sure great fights on and off the pitch. Let’s talk about his biggest fight in his career with his Ajax Amsterdam teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It was 2001 when both players joined the club, Mido from Belgium side, while Ibrahimovic was having his first time out of his childhood club, Malmo in Sweden.

Mido was laying more than Ibrahimovic as Mido had much experience than Zlatan, but the second year Zlatan took the starting position out of Mido who became a substitute.
Mido was so angry for not playing so he started making troubles with Ajax coach at that time, Ronald Koeman, he also started troubles with his teammates.

Mido and Ibrahimovic had a great friendship, two young players with much passion and energy; they were spending time together off the pitch.

The incident happened in March 2003 when Ajax lost to PSV Eindhoven 2-0, Mido participated as a substitute, he was selfish, he was not cooperating with his teammates and the team loss turned Ajax dressing room after the game to a battle field.

Mido started screaming against his teammates, his coach so Ibrahimovic started screaming against him, they did that for minutes till Mido asked Ibrahimovic to stop.

Zlatan did not stop so Mido threw the scissors against him, the weapon was just centimeters off Zlatan’s face, it was a silence in the dressing room, after minutes Mido looked to Zlatan and they started laughing, Mido told Ibrahimovic that he almost killed him.

Ajax board decided to exclude Mido from the first team, no one defended him in public, but Ibrahimovic, he told reporters that Mido is still young and he did mistakes, but he will learn and he did a lot to the club.

At the end, Mido left Ajax to go to Marseille, while Zlatan left a year later to join Juventus.

Mido and Ibrahimovic are still friends till now, Mido looks to Ibrahimovic with pride and Zlatan looks to Mido as one of the best players he played with.
