CAIRO, 19 February 2023: At 04:00 PM, The eyes of the Egyptian football fans will be towards the Cairo International Stadium, which hosts the opening match of the U-20 African Nations Cup for Youth, which is being held in Egypt, between Egyp & Mozambique.
The Egyptian youth team enters the tournament aiming to win the title for the fifth time in its history, especially since the tournament is held in Egypt & infront of the Egyptian fans.
The Egyptian youth team played two matches in preparation for the tournament against South Sudan and Uganda, winning the first match with a clean goal, and tied the second with a goal for each team, while Mozambique played two matches against the Egyptian team Mostakbal Watan and Gambia national team, winning the first with 3 goals and tied in the second with a goal for each team.
For his part, the U-20 Egyptian national team coach, Mahmoud Gaber held more than one session with his players, during which he asked them to focus and fight inside the stadium in order to win the African title.
The draw for the U-20 African Nations Championship resulted in the Egyptian national team falling into the first group, which includes Mozambique, Senegal and Nigeria, and the tournament will be held on three stadiums in Cairo, Alexandria and Ismailia.
And the youth team announced the names of 26 players for the tournament, they are: “Goalkeeper: Ahmed Nader Al-Sayed – Karim Ahmed Nabil – Mustafa Makhlouf, and the defense: Abdel Rahman Rashdan – Abdel Rahman Jouda – Omar Fayed – Youssef Shaaban – Ahmed Reda – Iyad Al Askalani – Islam Abdel. Allah Metwally - Karim Al-Dbees - Raafat Khalil - Khaled Awad - Mahmoud Ahmed Morsi, and the midfield: Muhammad Faris - Tariq Alaa - Omar Al-Saei - Majed Hani - Muhammad Hamdi - Ahmed Abdel Rahim Esho - Ahmed Nader Hawash - Youssef Al-Azab, and in the attack each of Ahmed Sharif - Mahmoud Morsi - Salah Pasha - Youssef Hassan - Abdel Rahman Zaki - Ahmed Nader Hawash.
