10-players Pyramids reach Egypt's Cup Final after beating Zamalek with penalty shoot-out

CAIRO, 17 January 2023: Pyramids Football Club qualified for the final of the Egypt Cup after defeating Zamalek by penalty kicks, in the match held at Cairo International Stadium as part of the semi-final competitions of the Egypt Cup.
 
Hossam Abdel Majid scored Zamalek's goal with a wonderful header in the 5th minute of the match, after Zizou crossed a wonderful corner.
 
 
The 11th minute of the match was the highlight of the game as referee sent Pyramids' Ali Gabr off with a red card after blocking Zamalek's Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri, who penetrated between the Pyramids players.
 
In an early change for the Pyramids team, Abdullah Al-Saeed came out in the 14th minute of the match to control the field after Ali Gabr was sent off and completed the match with only 10 players.
 
 
Walid Al-Karti, the Pyramids player, scored the equalizer in the 55th minute of the match, through a distinguished follow-up inside the penalty area, with which Ramadan Sobhi deceived all Zamalek players.
 
With this tie, the two teams went to extra time, consisting of two halves, each half of 15 minutes, to settle the qualifier for the final round of the Egypt Cup.
 
Pyramids player Karim Hafez was injured in the 101st minute of the additional first half of the match, and Pacheco pushed Pyramids coach Abdullah Magdy to compensate for Hafez's injury.
 
 
Emam Ashour hit a powerful ball at Pyramids goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy in the 114th minute of the extra half, but El-Shennawy was in the exact spot and saved his own goal.
