Zamalek starts African journey with a victory over Chad's Elect

CAIRO, 19 September 2022: Zamalek team defeated Chad’s Elect 2-0 in the match that brought them together this on Sunday, at Ahmedou Ahidjo Stadium, in the first leg of the preliminary round of the African Champions League.
 
Mahmoud Shikabala scored the goal for Zamalek in the 52nd minute, then Ahmed Sayed Zizou scored the second goal in the 59th minute, and in the 77th minute Ahmed Zizou missed a penalty kick.
 
 
The formation of Zamalek included: goalkeeper: Mohamed Awad
 
Defense line: Ahmed Fattouh - Mahmoud Hamdi "Al Wensh" - Hossam Abdel Majid - Mohamed Abdel Ghani.
 
Midfield: Mohamed Ashraf "Ruqa" - Syed Abdullah "Neymar" - Imam Ashour - Mahmoud Abdel-Razek "Shikabala" - Ahmed Sayed "Zizou".
 
Offensive line: Seif Al-Din Al-Jaziri
 
And on the bench are: Muhammad Nadim, Muhammad Abdul Shafi, Abdullah Gomaa, Hamza Mathlouthi, Saif Jaafar, Muhammad Hossam "Biso", Youssef Ibrahim "Obama", Youssef Osama Nabih and Hussam Ashraf.
 
Despite heavy rains, Zamalek managed to win their first African game in the journey to the sixth African title.
 
The return match is scheduled to take place on the 25th of September at Cairo Stadium.
 
 
The Zamalek delegation received 40 invitations to the match, which were granted to members of the Egyptian embassy and members of the Egyptian community in Cameroon.
