Egypt participates in Women’s U20 Volleyball World Championship

CAIRO –13 July 2017: Egypt’s national women’s U20 Volleyball Team departed Egypt on Wednesday to Mexico to take part in the U-20 Volleyball World Championship, which will be held July 14-23, 2017.

The Egyptian delegation included Noor Attia as the head coach of the team. The coaching team also includes Nour Eldine Abou el-Ela, the team's manager; Amr el-Henawy, assistant coach; and Roud Eid, the team's doctor. The 12 players of the national team are Nada Hossam Moawad, Noura Hossam Moawad, Hania Khaled Abdullah, Youmna Omar Fathi, Nour Yalla Yassin, Habiba Tariq, Dana Ahmed Shawky, Salma Saad Ahmed, Mayer Khalifa, Nadine Mohamed Salah, Alia Hany and Hana Hassan el-Masry. Meanwhile, an injury prevented Al-Ahly player Maryam Metwally from traveling with the team to Mexico. She may perform a surgical procedure in the shoulder and might be away from volleyball for up to four months, Super Kora reported.

Egypt is in group A, next to the host country, Mexico, as well as Russia and Bulgaria.

Egypt’s young women are aiming to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.

Egypt vs. Mexico (Friday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m.)

Egypt vs. Bulgaria (Saturday, July 15 at 7 a.m.)

Egypt vs. Russia (Sunday, July 16, at 7 a.m.)
