CAIRO-26 March 2022: Samir Osman, former Egyptian referee, shared his views on the referee's decisions in Egypt's match against Senegal in the first leg of the final round of the World Cup qualifiers.

The Pharaohs defeated Senegal 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Mohamed Salah and the home team stood their ground after the goal to go into the second leg with an advantage.

The biggest flashpoint of the game was Egypt's goal which the Senegalese fans claimed it was offside and Osman was needed to dissect the situation for the press.

"Egypt's goal was not offside. The ball did not touch Mostafa Mohamed and went directly from Amr El Soulia to Mohamed Salah, who was not offside." Osman said.

Osman added "The game was played under the watch of VAR and the VAR officials did not even call the referee to check the situation."

The two teams will face off on Tuesday night in Senegal to decide who will pick one of Africa's five tickets to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
