August brings the Arab Championship to Al Ahly's basketball team

CAIRO, 10 October 2021: The Spanish coach of the Al-Ahly basketball team, Auguste Bosch, expressed his great happiness after defeating Kuwaiti club, Al-Kuwait, with a score of 78/66 in the match that brought the two teams together in the final of the Arab Championship hosted by Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, to crown the Reds with the title for the first time in their history.
 
Auguste said, in statements to Ontime Sport 3 channel: Our system is based on training daily to improve our level, and the players trust each other and this is the secret of winning championships.
 
He added: I gave Al-Ahly fans this title for the first time, and it is a pleasure to work in Al-Ahly, and I gave the fans this title, especially as they were thirsty for that title.
 
He continued, "I told Michael Thompson of my desire to continue with Al-Ahly during the current season's competitions, as he is an excellent player, and he performed well in the championship."
 
Al-Ahly won the Arab Championship title for the first time in its history, to be the team’s second title during the season, as it was crowned the Cairo Regional Championship last month.

20/23 for Kuwaiti Al-Kuwait
33/36 for Kuwaiti Al-Kuwait
49/63 for Al-Ahly
78 / 66 for Al-Ahly
 
The last final of the Al-Ahly Basketball team in the Arab Basketball Championship was in 2000 against its counterpart Al-Jazira, and the Reds lost, to reach the final of the tournament after an absence of 21 years, and crowned the title for the first time in its history.
 
Al-Ahly reached the Arab Basketball Championship final 3 times, in 1991, 1999 and 2000.
