CAIRO – 7 July 2017: Ben Brereton, England forward, scored the only goal in the match against the Netherlands on Thursday in a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) U19 competition held in Georgia.

Both teams wanted to take another step towards the semifinals after winning their first match. England won the first match over Bulgaria, while the Netherlands won against Germany.

English players had many chances in the first half, but they failed to translate any of them to goals, while the Netherlands players were out of their form.

England controlled the second half from the first moment, although they missed many chances to score. However, when everyone thought the match would end in a draw, Ben Brereton scored a goal to end the match 1-0 for England.

England stands on top of the group with 6 points, while the Netherlands shares the second position with Germany, who won over Bulgaria 3-0 in the other match of the group.

England will face Germany to secure their qualification, while the Netherlands will play against Bulgaria. The last group matches will be on Sunday.

Georgia is hosting the UEFA U19 Championship from July 2 to 15, 2017.
