CAIRO-9 April 2021: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that his team must show a reaction against Aston Villa after suffering a blow in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid in Spain.

The Reds hope to bounce back against in-form Aston Villa and they will have in mind the result of their game in the first half of the season when Liverpool lost 7-2.

“We have to show a reaction, definitely. The game against Real Madrid shouldn't have any influence on the Aston Villa game tomorrow.” Klopp said in the pre-match press conference.

Liverpool are out of the title race in the Premier League but they are fighting to book a place in the top four and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Klopp added “Aston Villa are a very good side. Good sides in the Premier League are immediately in contention for European spots.”

Klopp praised Aston Villa’s striker Ollie Watkins, who scored three goals against Liverpool in the game that ended 7-2, saying “Ollie is a really, really talented striker. Nobody has to remind me how good he is but how we always try to defend strikers, we try to avoid passes into their area.”
